To say that NET has changed my life and the lives of others is simply an understatement. I love my family, I love chiropractic, and I love to teach. After graduating from Parker College of Chiropractic (now called Parker University) in 1997, I opened my private practice in The Colony, TX. In 2004 I began teaching at Parker, and a couple of years later I was fortunate to attend a special student NET Basic seminar that was taught on campus by Drs. Scott and Deb Walker. Now add NET to the mix of things I love and you have a winner!
In my private practice I’ve been able to help so many patients with NET. Bubba immediately comes to mind as just one example. This big ole guy was in severe low back pain and couldn’t even get up out of his work chair to come to my office. I was called to make an emergency visit to see if I could help him. I just did a simple low back Ileocecal Valve (ICV) with an NET component, and when I finished, I told him to go ahead and stand up. Co-workers watched in amazement as Big Bubba easily stood up and was able to move around without severe pain. It’s so amazing to be able see these kinds of miracles in my practice!
Now when it comes to teaching at Parker University, this is another passion of mine. I so enjoy helping the students and along with being an Associate Professor, I have also been the long-time faculty sponsor of the on-campus NET club. The students are a delight and as you can imagine, students have a bit of stress in their lives with studies, exams, financial worries, and just life in general. Over the years I’ve become known as the guy to go to when the students have a stressful issue. The following story from a student at Parker will help you see why I love what I do:

The journey through Chiropractic school can be challenging to say the least, and my path that led me to Parker University was just as tough. My significant other and I both knew this was going to be a difficult time and the daily stresses were going to be magnified with all my focus on my education. Well, these difficult times proved too much for my significant other of six years and we decided to end our relationship at the end of the first trimester. Then I moved in with my parents and life went on with somewhat normality until early one morning, after tossing and turning all night, I awoke to find myself covered with hives from head to toe.
Now, growing up the son of an allopathic doctor and nurse, I took the quickest route of relief with an antihistamine tablet. This went on the following night, and then another sleepless night, and so on and so on. As I started my fourth trimester, the stakes were getting higher and the demands on my time increased. This is when I began to also have hives during the day while at school. But, like I would do at night, I took an antihistamine and the symptoms would subside for a day or so. Then one day, as I began to feel the familiar prologue to one of these attacks, I realized I’d forgotten to bring any antihistamine tablets with me. By the time we finished lunch, my lips were swollen two inches thick each, top and bottom, and I began to have laboured breathing.
As I gathered my things, a classmate, saw the state I was in and asked if he could do anything to help me — and he also asked me if I knew what was causing my problems. I told him my history over the past year, and although he did not know how to fix it, he did have a recommendation. He told me to contact Dr. Bob Wilborn and to ask about Neuro Emotional Technique (NET). Being at my wits end, I sought out Dr. Wilborn to see if he could possibly help me with my affliction.
After working out a time and place, we met the following day. Now, still being so early on in my education at Parker, I was sceptical of non-traditional forms of healing. As Dr. Wilborn started the NET process, you can well imagine my apprehension, but I was desperate for some relief. After an extensive history, we began the treatment portion of this technique with more questions from my youth to present day, and finally he gave me an adjustment. Upon completion, Dr. Bob sat me up and said, “Well, your hives are gone; what else is bothering you?” In my Doubting Thomas state of mind I sheepishly said nothing else and thanked him as I went on my way.
Still not believing he had helped me, I sat and waited for another reaction. One day turned into two, then into a week, then a month, and now a year and a half later, I have not had a hive or the remote feeling of the beginning of a symptom of one since that day. I am not saying that this technique can cure the world, but it changed my life!

The above story is so heart-warming, and I have to say that my personal and professional journey with NET has been incredible. My professional life is very rich in being able to help others, and my family life is filled with many joys. Many years ago I married my high-school sweetheart, and I am so blessed to have a beautiful family, including a very precious granddaughter. Every day is an exciting new beginning, and now as I begin teaching a “Selective” NET course at Parker, I will be able to train yet another generation of practitioners who can help patients with this incredible mind-body tool called NET!
